MCHS '60 luncheon, 8/20/07

Here are a few photos from a gathering of Mira Costa Class of 1960 members at Beaches restaurant in Manhattan Beach on Aug. 20, 2007.  The occasion was a visit to the area by Loretta Kim Briese, probably best known among her classmates as one of the five flag twirlers who performed at MCHS sporting events.  A Denver resident, she had not seen many of us since the 1960s.

From left:  Jim McCaverty, Karen Richards Rambeau, Kathy Taylor Graham, Mary Alice Holmes, Wayne Overbeck, Priscilla Gibbons Haase, Sharon Archuletta Mansfield, Mary Amo Graf and Loretta Kim Briese.

Former flag twirlers Kathy Taylor Graham and Loretta Kim Briese reminisce about their Mustang days.

Karen Richards Rambeau tracks down a missing alum while Noel Briese (El Segundo '57) enjoys the day.

The joke of the day revolved around the locally popular song, "Beach Trash," taken by some as an unkind statement about longtime residents of the beach cities.  Here Linda Reardon Neal displays a newly purchased T-shirt from a local watering hole, while Priscilla Gibbons Haase, Mary Alice Holmes and Loretta Kim Briese enjoy the joke.
